Christmas is coming and I, like you probably, don't have a lot of time to read everything that is being written in response to the Congregation for Divine Worship (CDW)'s document answering questions about the Pope's Motu Proprio Traditionis Custodes, released this past summer. But I thought I'd post here on this new development.
(If you are not up on that episode and what it means for the Church, here is my "TC" archive.)
- My husband's news article on the matter: New Vatican document tightens restrictions on traditional liturgy
- An explainer from Pillar: Vatican answers the dubia on 'Traditionis custodes' - Here’s what it means
- Peter Kwasniewski: A Supreme Moment of Decision, Courtesy of “Divine Worship.” As usual, Dr. K presents the history and context of the question, including important quotes from Doctors of the Church on matters of obedience.
- Phil Lawler: The Vatican’s one-way ticket to liturgical reform Pt. 2
(I will update with Phil's Pt. 3 tomorrow)For Part 3 go here.
For an unfiltered, more comprehensive round-up of much of what has been written, go here.
Whyyyy? I just don't understand this. It is hard enough trying to fight against the culture without feeling like the Church is trying to make life more difficult.
