Is a vaccine passport a sure ticket to tyranny?

Watch this video from Naomi Wolf: "Why Vaccine Passports Equal Slavery Forever" -- if you just want her conclusions, start at around minute 13.

Is this hyperbole or a conspiracy theory?

If you don't think that having a card that states your vaccine status leads to tyranny, that is, leads to keeping people from stores, travel, and gatherings, and even punishing them for having the wrong opinions in a Chinese-style social credit system -- why not?

How do you see it working and being effective according to its own purposes (keeping track of and rewarding people for getting vaccinated)?

Just to be clear, vaccine ID cards are happening now. So I'm not asking if they should happen. I'm asking if you see these cards -- passports --as taking away our basic freedoms, because that is what worries people like me. I would like to know if I'm overreacting when I fear that we are headed for what Wolf calls the worst slavery ever known.

  1. This vaccine card passport, if fully implemented, limits our lives in so many ways and limits our total freedom of movement. For those of us that choose not to vaccinate, we will become the lepers of society. Without a doubt, our freedoms will be erased, and replaced with outcast bully measures. A move to a different state may work for a while, but, if these people in the elite class warfare have their way, ........may God have mercy on us all.

  2. I think it will be catastrophic.

  3. Dr. Leana Wen’s (former planned parenthood pres) comments in an interview on this issue said it all. It’s chilling, honestly. She basically said “let’s not lose this golden opportunity to let people know that their freedoms are contingent on getting this vaccine.” It’s truly scary. I was asking my dad (who is in his mid sixties) if he was going to get it and I told him that the way they are framing this (the passports etc) is enough to make me not want to get it on principle, and he agreed.

  5. Based on my current knowledge of the US government, I’m sure they’ll stop at this vaccine. I’m sure they won’t require other vaccines or other medical procedures or other thought checking in order to work and live and thrive......🙄

    1. That's the thing -- when do people in power ever relinquish power?

  7. When I first heard they were enforcing vaccine passports I thought: "The entire world is becoming China". Of course it is the way to tyranny, the worst we could have imagined; the old fashion comunist totalitarian state is nothing compared to this. I now finally understand David Goldman's point in his book "You Will Be Assimilated": China doesn't have to actually conquer the world, it just needs to "sino-form" it, as he puts it. We are becoming like China and the degree of conformity amongst citizen is the real thing that should worry us. We could see it coming (the last ten years were an exercise in soft totalitarianism all over the Western world), but I confess that I am somewhat shocked and surprised at how fast it is all proceeding without encountering significant push-back (at least in Europe).

    1. What's odd to me is that Goldman when I last checked has been quite compliant about restrictions. The same with Rod Dreher: he can articulate the problem but seems unable to resist, and seems to be overruled by fear.

    2. I think these type of social control developments- and especially vaccine passports and digitalization and centralization of health data- are built in the specifics of the fourth industrial revolution, which sees big data, artificial intelligence, 5G and so on at its core. Goldman seems to admire how China is doing in this; I personally consider that this kind of technical developments are dangerous because will impose certain practices in society (in the way the technical possibility of hormomnal contraception meant widespread used and normalization of contraception) and the governments will just go along, disregarding civil liberties or individual rights. That's why I'm not sure that the fourth industrial revolution is something to endorse (and this probably makes me reactionary), but I'm also not sure if at the macrolevel there still is any choice, given the interrelatedness of world economies and financial markets. If one must compete with China in those fields (with the sense of urgency that Goldman senses), one must become at a certain extent China. The way I see it, the problems come from the West having already accepted this utilitarian framework.

  8. No! You are not overreacting at all. The problem I see is how do we fight back against the usurpation of our freedoms, especially when our representatives in Congress seem intent on taking them away. (We live in MN and have two far left democrat female senators.) What would happen if the majority of us resist? Can they put us all in jail? Or would we end up in the "re-education camps"? I hate wearing a mask! I refuse to get the vaccine! I pray for this madness to end, but I'm not sure it ever will until The Prince of Peace returns to set things right. God bless you for your efforts.

  9. Yes, it is catastrophic. The dangers are not overstated. I have, in fact, been very afraid of this very scenario ever since the early days of the COVID panic, when I realized that the governments and media were using/creating the situation as an enormous power grab. If it continues in the direction where it is headed, may God help us all.

  10. Leila just deleted my post about my mother's probably permanent damage from catching Covid from an unvaccinated health care worker--this despite the fact that I agreed electronic vaccine passports were a chillingly bad idea. I guess my mom's real experience is not acceptable. Nor are my thoughts about how to avoid machine surveillance. just saying. censorship? Blessed Easter to all. Surprised you are here today (we celebrate on the Julian calendar, so here I am on a normal Sunday afternoon.)

    1. Vaccines made from murdered children are what's unacceptable.

    2. No babies were killed to produce any of these vaccines and there are no dead babies in any of these vaccines. Are you of European descent and live in North America--if so, you are benefitting form the deaths of the original inhabitants, including babies, yet we are not morally required to leave since we neither asked for nor could have prevented those deaths. Likewise, if you benefit from any advance in medical knowledge since the renaissance you are benefitting from research that was done on people who had been executed. Do we then refuse all medical treatment that was not known prior to the fifteenth century?

    3. No, I didn't delete anything.

Of course, you have no way of knowing who transmitted the virus, let alone if it was from an unvaccinated worker.

Something you need to know is that the vaccine manufacturers AND THE CDC state clearly that they make no representations that the vaccine prevents catching and/or transmitting Covid.

      So it's a nonsensical statement.

Just as with wearing masks, vaccines promise to be a way to scapegoat the noncompliant. Even though no one claims that masks prevent transmission and there is no way to know that Covid was contracted from an unmasked person, so it will be with vaccines.

All that is claimed is that the vaccine MAY lessen symptoms of Covid. Nothing more. They are not magic.

  11. Anonymous—“No babies were killed to produce...” — Are you trying to say that no aborted fetal tissue was used, or just that the companies didn’t kill the babies themselves? Show me the industry today that uses the bodies of executed prisoners for anything and I will be happy to boycott it.

  12. Anonymous makes this claim: "...there are no dead babies in any of these vaccines." which I take to mean "you will not find aborted fetal tissue in the vaccine itself" -- a common claim and one made by Fauci himself.

However, the claim is not true, as you can read for yourself on the vaccine insert that comes with the dose (it may be true of those that only test and do not use aborted fetal tissue in the production of the vaccine, but the statement on its own is untrue).

    I posted the evidence here:

  13. What do you think of vaccine requirements for travel currently in place, such as mandatory malaria inoculation before travelling to Africa? Honestly, that form of "vaccine passport" never bothered me before, though I am concerned where the logical end of those policies will lead as regards covid.

    1. Maggie, there are several things, but one is that those records were not a matter of a digital "fingerprint" that becomes a matter of being able to participate in society *at home*... the vaccine passport being proposed leverages the desire of businesses to open up and leaves the person with very little freedom, especially when combined with the removal of clauses designed to protect one's ability to calculate one's own risk (so-called "religious exemptions").

Another is that contracting, say, cholera really is a matter of life and death even for the healthy; covid just isn't one of those diseases. If you want to go to a dangerous country, then it makes sense to get the vaccine; you can choose not to go.

But for an American to have to get a vaccine card just to participate in ordinary society... against a vanishingly minimal risk... I admit that this strikes me as completely different.
